| The
medieval villa of Ucero was based after the repopulation of Osma
on the 12th century, organizing itself in Community of Villa and
Tierra, that soon would become Señorío. Front door
to the Natural Park of the Río Lobos, the villa - famous
also by the river of same name and by its trouts, already very
quoted long ago by king Carlos III - it has ruins of a templario
castle.
The strength, surrounded by a spectacular landscape, dominates
the villa. Its structure was of triple enclosure as used to
be common to the strengths of Temple and is of singular beauty
the tower of the tribute with vault of crucería; in its
interior we can see the nerves and medallion. The iconography
in gargoyles and matacanes represents to human figures and an
eagle dominating to a serpent.
In the church: the gothic statue of the Virgin of the Old one,
and the call Christ of the Templarios. In the environs of the
town: the cave the Vixen with its 130 meters of tunnel excavated
on the rock comprised of the old conduction for water supply
to Uxama.
Long ago there was in the town a factory of chocolate, mill
and a laundry for wools. The fame which enjoys the honey that
is made artisan here extends to all the region. It has a establishment
of rural tourism.
