Natural Park and zone of special protection of birds. The canyon
formed by the linear erosion of the river and by the solvent action
of the water on the limestone rock, dilates along 25 kilometers
from Ucero to Hontoria del Pinar in Burgos. The landscape offers
as us varied and coloristas formations, like, caves,... The sources
and springs are abundant.
The 'albar sabina', next to the pine 'pudio' and the 'quejigo'
and the oak are characteristic trees. Vegetation of shore of
'chopos' and willows, provides shade to us in the days of heat.
The common vulture and the eagle real, fly over majestic. Amphibians,
reptiles, fish and mammals like corzo, wild boar, rabbit, squirrel
and hare form the great animal family who lives in the canyon.
It is forced the visit to the Center of Interpretation of
the Nature, to the entrance of the park, before arriving
at the camping. There a didactic visit can be made where they
will explain all the relative to the flowers, animals and geology
of the canyon to you, simultaneously you can visit the factoring
fish for restocking of rivers.
